Juve No Closer To Giovinco Extension

Juventus are not getting any closer to sealing a deal with Sebastian Giovinco regarding his contract extension as neither party can agree on figures, according to Sportmediaset.

The Bianconeri have been working hard to try and accommodate the 21-year-old ace and his demands amidst much pressure.

Andrea D’Amico, the player’s agent, is insisting that his client receives a multi-million pound deal from the club.

However, Juve are adamant on offering a maximum of €500,000 and it is here where the deal hits a brick wall. Sportmediaset claim that Giovinco is earning around €250,000 per season and that Juve’s offer is not enough for a player of his high calibre.

Reports suggest that the Italian under-21 international is demanding over €1m per season and his agent has fuelled the speculation after he said that the playmaker should be paid as much as Inter star Mario Balotelli.

Juve are keen on keeping their star man and they have already agreed on the extension of his deal which will run until 2013. The problem remains on rounding up the figures.

Giovinco has been outstanding recently and a number of top European sides are interested in his services. Arsenal are amongst those who have been looking around and Juve may risk losing their player if they do not wrap up the deal soon.

The club are also desperate to insert a mega-million pound buyout clause into the new contract in order to fend off interest from other managers.

The player and his agent are putting their feet down and the Old Lady will need to pull out the cash from her hand bag in order to keep them happy.
